Red Rock Rituals: 4 Empowering Photoshoots in Sedona -Women Empowerment Photographer

I absolutely love and adore this friend. She is so magical, adventurous, fun, and beautiful. She is a mother of three and such a beautiful soul. We love to do creative fun photo sessions a few times a year of all kinds when we both need a creative adventure. It says a lot about me that this is what I do in my spare time:) I love photography so much, and I love a creative shoot just for fun. It keeps my ideas fresh, I get to try out new locations, and I love to stay busy in those in between moments.

Each one of these shoots deserves it’s own blog, and I may do more on these shoots. But -looking a the big “picture” is just so epic and beautiful. We went HARD on this trip, and she only was there a few days. We also went on a motorcycle ride, had many great meals and walks, and we went shopping.

This blog is pretty long, like the longest blog I’ve ever made, maybe too long? So grab a cup of tea and I hope you enjoy.

SHOOT ONE- DOE MOUNTAIN

For this shoot, Gabrielle wore an impact dress by JOYFOLIE and her birthday suit! Thanks for the help carrying stuff on the hike up Mike!

“The wind does not wait for readiness—it moves, and she learned to move with it.”

If this shoot were A story told in Taro cards….

The Fool

She steps forward without needing certainty—only intuition, only trust in what she cannot yet see.

The Magician

Everything she needs is already within her. The only thing left is to begin.

The High Priestess

She does not explain herself. She remembers things she was never told.

The Empress

She creates without effort, loves without limit, and grows everything she touches.

The Emperor

Her power is not loud—it is rooted. Unshakable. Certain.

SECOND SHOOT

SUGAR LOAF TRAIL, COFFE POT - The Vortex is everywhere! This location is one of my very favorite hikes in Sedona. In fact, my pug Ezme and I have done this many times a week every day that I am in Sedona, and I can never ever get enough of it.

For the second shoot, we decided to go see ABBY(link to her site) for some witchy fun make up! And off we go on another short hike to a very private location.

For this shoot, Gabrielle brought a dress she found on ETSY (link to a similar dress in black) and I brought a few other looks from my collection. She also got henna done in Sedona’s beautiful TLAQEPAQUE art and shopping village at THE CHAI SPOT

For the darker look, she wore a dress I bought in Sedona at one of the weekly Art Fairs from YATRI SOL TRIBE - you can message her and order online(I think)

The Hierophant

She learned the rules, then chose to listen to something older.

The Lovers

Not two halves becoming whole—but two souls choosing to see each other fully.

The Chariot

She moves forward even when the path is unclear—especially then.

Strength

Her softness is not weakness. It is mastery.

The Hermit

She is not lost—she is listening.

Wheel of Fortune

Nothing stays still. Not even her becoming.

Justice

She no longer abandons herself to keep others comfortable.

Gabrielle drew the card DANGER. “Stay vigilant and aware of potential dangers. Use caution and your keen sense to navigate through risky situations. Recognise threats early and take pro-active steps to ensure your safety and well being.”

The Hanged One

She surrenders what she was told to be, and something new begins to breathe.

XIII — Death

Nothing truly ends—it transforms, quietly, without permission.

THIRD SHOOT - SECRET SLICK ROCK

For this one, we decided we needed to shoot the white dress again in a new location. Gabrielle brought another black dress, a hat, boots, and I brought the blue dress by Yatri Sol.

CAN YOU TELL THAT I LOVE TREES??

Temperance

She learns that healing is not becoming new—it is returning to balance.

The Sun

She does not apologize for her light.

There’s something almost intangible about motion in photography. I love adding motion blur to my galleries.

Edges soften. Light stretches. Forms dissolve.

It creates a sense that the subject isn’t fixed—that they’re shifting, evolving, becoming. Which is why a motion blurred image pairs so naturally with feminine energy and storytelling imagery.

In the blur, she becomes less of a form and more of a feeling. in her own world.
blur the edges
nothing stays still

The Moon

Not everything is meant to be understood—some things are meant to be felt.

The World

She is no longer becoming—she is being.

What if this shoot were Stevie Nicks lyrics?

“And the lady's feeling
Like the moon that she loved

Don’t you know that the stars are a part of us?”

-Bella Donna

“So I close my eyes softly
Til I become that part of the wind
That we all long for sometimes.
And to those that I love
Like a ghost through a fog
Like a charmed hour
And a haunted song
And the angel of my dreams.”

-Angel

“Run around like a spirit in flight
Fearlessness is fearlessness
I will not forget this night”

-Wild Heart

“She was that kind of lady
Times were hard
But she could come curling ‘round you
Like fingers.”

— Crying In The Night

If you have not heard this song from the Buckingham Nicks album, go find it IT IS SEXY!

Did you know that I have another website? This one has a moody, dark vibe and my other style is much lighter- while still maintaining creativity and mood. I blogged our fourth session on my other website, and I will link it below. It was a sexy boudoir session, so much fun!

What would 4 photoshoots cost like this? $4600

What about 3 sessions? $3500

How about just one witchy session in Seattle or Sedona? $1500
